I’m 16 now and I still can’t stand to look at that thing (especially at night). I’ve seen an extreme number of horror movies, but nothing (I repeat NOTHING) will ever scare me as much as Gus did. For years and years, all I remembered was a fading memory in the back of my mind, and I finally tracked it down to Ghostwriter and this episode. I’m just so surprised they’d put thing abomination on that show. I think my sisters used to watch that show a lot, and lucky me, one of the only episodes I saw was this one. Thanks Gooey Gus, for years of nightmares and even more years of searching…

im glad you posted this. i was trying to explain this to my wife the other day and she just laughed at me. gus inhabited my nightmares for years, and even today, when i went looking for that episode on GW online, his image made my heart leap and my skin crawl. fuck you, gooey gus.

Oh my lord! I have been trying to convince my friend that the bubblegum monster really existed. I’ve had weird nightmares about him for years. Whenever I try to describe him, no one knows what I’m talking about. Granted, I was really young and had no idea what the show was called until now. Wow. We should form some sort of support group for victims of Gus…That one episode where the girl gets covered in the goop. Ughhhhh

I can completely relate. This “thing” was an abomination, probably the reason why they canceled the show. It gave me nightmares, and even though I’m 16. he still creeps me out. I was actually scared for a number of years that he would pop out just outside my window while I was taking a shower, so I HAD to have the shade pulled down. And if I remember correctly, when the first introduced him he was a doll that could spit goo at people. What kind of people would introduce things like that to kids like me?

I’ve had nightmares for years about this guy, i’m 19 now and he still shows up one way or another in my dreams and it jolts me awake when i’m sleeping. I went so long not thinking about this show that I thought I made him up in my head. finally i decided to sit down and google “purple slime guy tv show” and here he is, the bane of my existence…. The producers of this show literally created the most terrifying thing I have ever witnessed, for years I couldnt go anywhere alone that was dark, I always imagined Gus would be standing there staring at me when I went around the corner… I hate him so much… What i remember the most is the episode where some of the kids rush over to somebody’s house to try and warn them but Gus is already there and trapped the kids to the back of the door to the house in a purple sac… Burn Gus, burn….

lmao i’m DYING laughing…i swear i was the only one that this scared the shit out of, only to find that fucking gus ruined many a childhood in his heyday. lol, i just turned 18 and he still creeps the shit out of me. i was sitting in my room thinking “what was it about that slime monster that still haunts me” (i couldn’t remember what he looked like). so i come to the pc and, after some googling, come across this and BAM: i instantly remember why. i don’t know what it is about him, but it shakes me to my soul…only when he’s stationary though. the bad actor with the gus mask is just comical. still, fuck you gus. and curse me for bringing you back into my memory. thanks for the pending nightmare!
